Wicked In Disguise

Wicked In Disguise (a.k.a. This is War)

By Douglas DoNascimento

In the quiet of the morning, before the dawn’s first light,

A battle starts within me, I prepare for the fight.

Temptations whisper softly, trying to lead me astray,

But I arm myself with courage, in the truth I’ll stay.

Every choice, every step, I know the stakes are high,

In the shadows of the heart, where the battles lie.

This is war, I won’t back down,

With faith as my armor, I’ll stand my ground.

This is war, the struggle’s real,

Not against flesh and blood but the wicked in disguise

In the chaos of high noon, when doubts begin to rise,

I cling to words of wisdom, to see through the disguise.

The world can be deceiving, with its glitter and its gold,

But I hold fast to the promise, let the truth unscathed.

Every word, every deed, I strive to make it pure,

In the silence of my soul, I find the strength to endure.

This is war, I won’t back down,

With faith as my armor, I’ll stand my ground.

This is war, the struggle’s real,

Not against flesh and blood but the wicked in disguise

Our struggle is against the rulers in disguise,

Against the powers of this dark world, the wicked in the skies.

The weapons of our warfare, divinely powerful and true,

Is the armor and the sword, they see us through.

This is war, I won’t back down,

With faith as my armor, I’ll stand my ground.

This is war, the struggle’s real,

Not against flesh and blood but the wicked in disguise

Take the helmet of salvation, and the word of God in hand,

With HIS love and hope I’ll conquer this land.

This war, as my LORD decrees,

Has already been won in the Calvary.

Our struggle is not against flesh and blood,
but against the rulers, against the powers,
against the world forces of this darkness,
against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh,
but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.

And take the helmet of salvation,
and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God.
