Don’t Do It Digital

Don’t Do It Digital

By Douglas DoNascimento

When I look back at your photos and cry

For the moments I remember

For the moments I’ve forgotten

And the people that are gone…

It’s a pain to remember

It’s a pain to forget.

But, they are never gone

until they’re forgotten by everyone.

So when you paint, don’t do it digital

Do it on canvas, make it physical

When you write, don’t do it digital

Do it on paper, make it lyrical

When you love, don’t be distant

Be present, every instant

This thing we call life, isn’t yours or mine

It will go back to the giver.

Your body will grow old, decay and sleep

Asleep with your soul

Until the second resurrection

Then, and only then, it will all make sense

All your choices today will come into play

And you will be truly free

So when you paint, don’t do it digital

Do it on canvas, make it physical

When you write, don’t do it digital

Do it on paper, make it lyrical

When you love, don’t be distant

Be present, every instant

When I look back at your photos and cry

Remembering the love, can’t let it pass by

In every moment, in every breath

I find beauty, even in death.

So when you paint, don’t do it digital

Do it on canvas, make it physical

When you write, don’t do it digital

Do it on paper, make it lyrical

When you love, don’t be distant

Be present, every instant

Until the second resurrection

All will make sense, no more reflection

We’ll be truly free, eternally

Under the light of the LORD, you and me.
